Ian Speakman was one of the original SEA speakers teaching us innovative ways that we can teach negotiations in our sales programs. Ian was a passionate teacher who was always willing to share ideas on how to improve sales education and one of the most out-of-the-box thinkers in our field. In his honor, we welcome submissions for the Ian Speakman Innovations in Teaching Award and we will hear from the finalists for the award at SEA '25.

The Jekyll Island Club was born during America’s Gilded Age, a period marked by rapid industrialization and unprecedented economic growth. In 1886, a group of powerful industrialists and financiers pooled their resources to purchase Jekyll Island as a private winter retreat. The club’s founders had already shaped the economic landscape of the United States—leaders in railroads, oil, steel, finance, and communication. These tycoons understood the value of relationships, exclusivity, and networking—principles that had underpinned their careers and now defined their private sanctuary.
The club’s founding members included names that are synonymous with American industry: J.P. Morgan, William Rockefeller, Joseph Pulitzer, Henry Hyde, and Marshall Field, among others. Together, these industrialists wielded wealth and power that were nearly unfathomable. Yet their influence did not come merely from their fortunes; it was their ability to sell ideas, products, and visions that set them apart.
Join us at SEA '25 where will not only explore better ways to teach the next generation of sales professionals, but we will explore this beautiful island as well!
Conference Registration Fees are $700 but the Early Bird Rate is $525 if you register by April 15th, 2025 .
